Product Application Method

Consumption

The required amount depends on surface porosity and texture. For smooth and even surfaces (free from voids or defects), approximately 1.0 to 1.5 kg/m² of the mixed product is needed. Any adjustments to application rate, mixing ratio, or method should be made only after consultation with Komfix technical advisors.

Application Method

  • Ensure the substrate is completely clean, free of oil, grease, dust, and other contaminants.

  • Remove any weak or loose layers using mechanical tools.

  • Cove fillets should be applied at all junctions between walls and floors and on uneven surfaces using compatible repair mortar.

  • Pre-wet the surface, then apply a suitable primer to enhance adhesion (recommended).

  • Mix Component A (powder) and Component B (liquid) thoroughly using a low-speed electric mixer (drill and paddle).

  • Apply the prepared mixture using a wide, stiff brush in two coats, applied crosswise (perpendicular layers).

  • The total thickness should range between 1–4 mm, depending on the pressure and type of usage.

  • After the second coat has dried, keep the surface moist for 24 hours by misting it with clean water.

Technical Recommendations

  • Note: Final layer thickness should be between 1 to 4 mm, depending on water pressure and application area. Do not exceed 1 mm per coat during application.
  •  After application, the surface should be protected from direct rain, oil contamination, and pollutants for at least 12 hours.
  •  The surface becomes walkable after 24 hours, and gains initial mechanical resistance within 3 days.

  • Conditions: Store in a dry, covered, and well-ventilated area. Protect from moisture, humidity, and direct sunlight.

Safety and Protection

The cement-based two-component polymer waterproofing compound is not classified as hazardous or harmful to human health or the environment.
However, it must not be ingested or come into contact with the eyes.
In case of accidental contact with skin or eyes, rinse immediately and thoroughly with plenty of clean water.
If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.

Pool Sealing-WP400 is a next-generation, two-component, polymer-modified cementitious waterproofing system designed for long-lasting protection of concrete surfaces in constant contact with standing water. Typical applications include waterproofing of swimming pools, water tanks, wet areas (bathrooms, kitchens, balconies), and building facades exposed to rain.
Formulated from acrylic emulsions and specially treated cementitious powders, this system offers superior elasticity, flexibility, durability, and adhesion, making it a practical and high-performance alternative to traditional waterproofing solutions such as bitumen membranes and torch-on systems.

Its high elongation properties allow the membrane to bridge hairline cracks and fill voids, forming a seamless, waterproof barrier while maintaining breathability and water vapor transmission. The product develops full waterproofing and hydrostatic pressure resistance within 7 days of curing. Its exceptional adhesion to various substrates such as concrete, steel, and masonry ensures reliable performance in even the harshest environments.
