Advantages of Using This Product

• Very high strength and bonding power
• Reduced cracking and shrinkage
• Cement-based adhesive with reduced slip
• Allows for thinner tile setting layers
• High moisture resistance
• Cost-effective

Applications of This Product

  • Installation of all types of tiles and ceramics in environments with thermal and moisture shocks (such as saunas and jacuzzis)

  • Installation of various tiles in areas with constant water exposure (such as pools, fountains, water features, etc.)

  • Installation of standard pool tiles, glass tiles, and special pool ceramics

Product Application Method

Consumption Rate

The consumption of powder tile adhesive depends on the condition of the substrate (its porosity and surface unevenness) and the tile grooves, but on average, 2.5 to 4 kg is required to cover one square meter.

Application Method

The application surface must be solid, clean, dry, and free of dust and loose particles. Loose paint and coatings should be removed before applying the adhesive. This product can also be used for levelling, smoothing, and minor surface corrections up to 5 mm thickness, but at least 48 hours must be allowed for proper drying.

  • Mix the powder with 3.5 liters of clean, salt-free water to achieve a paste-like mortar. After mixing, let it sit for 5 minutes to mature. Apply the adhesive to the surface and the back of the tile using a notched trowel and the double bonding method.

  • Use even tapping or sliding of the slab to release any trapped air between the tile and the substrate.

  • Grouting can be performed 48 hours after installation. Avoid applying pressure on the newly installed tiles during this period.

  • When tiling over old tiles, at least two-thirds of the glaze on the existing tiles must be scratched before applying the new tiles.

  • When tiling over gypsum surfaces or lightweight blocks, surface preparation is mandatory and a primer must be applied before installation.

Technical and Application Recommendations

  • Before application, identify surface irregularities using a straight edge and level, then smooth the surface using primer, concrete adhesive, or a cementitious coat.

  • Tile installation should begin 4 days after surface leveling.

  • Use a notched trowel to control the amount and thickness of adhesive applied.

  • The adhesive must have the appropriate consistency for tile installation.

  • The consistency should be such that the tile adheres immediately and doesn’t separate easily.

  • Under normal temperature and humidity conditions, maximum open time is 20 minutes.

  • When using low absorption or large-format tiles, installation time will be longer.

  • When tiling on tall vertical surfaces, the work should be done in multiple stages with proper time intervals to allow the lower sections to dry and support the weight of additional tiles.

  • Use of this adhesive is not recommended at temperatures below 5°C.

  • The optimal temperature for drying is above 15°C.

  • If the surface layer of adhesive has dried, re-trowel before installing tiles.

  • Apply twisting pressure to the tile after placing it to ensure full adhesive contact on the back.

  • Grouting should be done one day after adhesive setting.

Additional Information

Pool tile adhesives are the most common type of thin-set mortars used for installing tiles and ceramics on the floors and walls of pools, saunas, jacuzzis, fountains, water features, water reservoirs, and more.

This single-component cement-based tile adhesive is formulated with high-quality chemical additives, modified cellulose derivatives, and fibers  improve adhesion and flexibility.

The chemical additives delay the hydration of the cement and cause changes in the adhesive’s structure. These components enhance plasticity, affect viscosity and workability, and ensure better water retention in the mortar. Once cured, the adhesive is completely water-insoluble.

Recommendation: In such environments, it is strongly advised to replace mixing water with KamFix latex mortar enhancer (resin) when combining with the powder adhesive. Adding this polymer resin significantly increases the bonding strength, flexibility, and water resistance, effectively preventing tile detachment due to thermal stresses.
